作者简介 迈克尔•苏立文（Michael Sullivan，1916—2013），牛津大学圣凯瑟琳学院荣誉退休院士，曾在剑桥大学、斯坦福大学等多所高校和研究机构从事教学及研究。荣获过美国国家人文基金会、古根海姆基金会、洛克菲勒基金会等多所机构颁发的多项荣誉和研究基金。 1940年代来到中国，并开始接触中国艺术，结识了庞薰琹、吴作人、丁聪、郁风、关山月、刘开渠等中国现代艺术家，此后一直与几代中国艺术家和诸多艺术机构来往密切。毕生专注于中国艺术的研究和传播，是最早向西方引介中国现代艺术的西方学者之一，并成为这一领域的国际权威。著有《中国艺术史》《20世纪中国艺术与艺术家》《东西方艺术的交会》等多部深具影响力的专著。 译者简介 赵潇（Rebekah X.
